Welcome

Welcome to My Year of Movies. My name is Duncan and I'm a movie nut. Between researching for my PhD in film history, teaching film studies classes at uni and my own recreational viewing, I watch a stack of movies. I've set up this blog to share a few thoughts and impressions as I watch my way through the year. I hope you find it interesting and maybe even a bit entertaining. Enjoy.

Status Update

March

Films Watched: 17 (47 in total)

Pick of the Bunch:

I know, this could be a bit of Scorsese bias coming through, but there is something about Gangs of New York that I really love. It's epic scale, brilliant visuals and a solid story line built around engaging characters. It's a cracker of a movie.

Also Up There: Memento, Wall-E, Psycho, Casablanca

Don't Waste Your Time: Alice in Wonderland. Kind of pains me to say it because I've been a Tim Burton fan for a long time, but I felt disappointed with this movie straight after seeing it, and since then have grown even more so. A truly forgettable movie.
