Welcome

Welcome to My Year of Movies. My name is Duncan and I'm a movie nut. Between researching for my PhD in film history, teaching film studies classes at uni and my own recreational viewing, I watch a stack of movies. I've set up this blog to share a few thoughts and impressions as I watch my way through the year. I hope you find it interesting and maybe even a bit entertaining. Enjoy.

Status Update

June

Films Watched: 10 (83 in total)

Pick of the Bunch:

The A-Team may not be as thought provoking as V for Vendetta or as clever as Broadcast News, it may not be as visually spectacular as Avatar, as charming as Ratatouille or as innovative as Run, Lola, Run but that doesn't matter because it is great fun. It's not the sort of movie you'd study and it's not going to go down in history as one of the greats, but for an enjoyable movie to watch with friends, you can't beat it. I said it in my blog on it and a few weeks later my opinion hasn't changed, The A-Team is the most fun you will have with a movie this year.

Also Up There:
V for Vendetta, Ratatouille, Run Lola Run

Don't Waste Your Time: I think this is the first month that I have two legitimate entries for this one, but I'm going to have to give it to Crash. Youth Without Youth wasn't great, but the worst thing that will happen there is you'll get bored. Crash on the other hand has the potential to make you sick.
